Congratulations to Brian Fishback (Parkview 2005) who added to his personal hardware this week, being named to the 2nd Team All-Region squad. Brian, like his close friend and former teammate Patrick Carver, is also a product of the MedPay/Springfield SC, Springfield Demize and Parkview Vikings. There’s one play in the video of the SSC vs Busch game I posted yesterday that has stuck in my mind since that date. Near the end, 8:30 into the video, how calmly he handled the opportunity in the box on what ended up being a disallowed goal that would have given the boys a 1-0 lead. He’s been building on that ever since.
INDIANAPOLIS- Junior Brian Fishback has earned another honor following his 2007 season. The pair have been named to the NSCAA’s All-Great Lakes Region second team.
Fishback anchored the UIndy offense this season, scoring 13 goals on the year and adding three assists for a total of 29 points. The junior midfielder had three game-winners on the season and took at total of 60 shots, 27 on goal. He ranked in the top ten of many of the GLVC’s offensive catagories.
These honors come in addition to both Higgins and Fishback being named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams, and the All-GLVC postseason teams. Fishback was also named a member of the Daktronic’s All-Region team.
