The Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association announce the 2007 Class 2 All-State honors:
Player of the Year — Ty Williams, Cape Notre Dame
Co-Offensive — Justin Scicluna, West Plains and
John O’Mara, Duchesne
Defensive — Mark Zimmer, Cape Notre Dame
Co-GK — Ryan Wehking, Priory and Sam Cooksey, St. Dominic
Coach of the Year — Brad Wittenborn, Cape Notre Dame
Congratulations to senior Justin Scicluna, West Plains Zizzers, who was chosen Co-Offensive Player of the Year along with John O’Mara, in Class 2. Justin is joined on the First team by teammate Stuart Ziegler as well as Tanner Roberts, Bolivar Liberators and TJ Martin, Webb City Cardinals.
Ryan Schlichtman and Uziel Franco of the Cassville Wildcats, Ryan Toombs of the Bolivar Liberators and Brice Hunt of the West Plains Zizzers were chosen to the Second Team.
All seven seniors (Uziel’s a junior) are invited members of the 2008 Southwest All-Stars game. Justin is pictured in the Zizzer’s loss to Bolivar in the District semifinals.

Congratulations Ryan and Uzi and all the Class 2, District 5 players who were named to the All-State team. Our competitive district continues to produce top players and it’s nice to receive some statewide recognition for southwest Missouri. Great job and good luck to all the seniors in your college pursuits next year.
Trying to be objective here and not to take away from the play of those named to the first team All-State. There were many good players throughout the state including SWMO. However, I am a little suprised that the team that qualified to state from our area did not get any first team selections.

George, I’d have to say that Cassville’s run to state speaks to the quality of the teams play at the end of the season when it counted. That doesn’t necessarily translate to individual awards.
Cassville’s record through regional 22-1 ??????, seems we played well all season.
theres no reason to get worked up about an award, there are plenty of past all staters sittin in there living room while 2nd team all conference kids play but that is just how it works
