Drury Panther Marco Cherisma Named Daktronics Honorable Mention All-American

Drury University junior forward Marco Cherisma has been named an honorable mention NCAA Division II All-America men’s soccer selection by Daktronics when the teams were announced on Thursday.

Cherisma, from Delray Beach, Fla., established new DU records with 20 goals and 44 points this season after transferring to Drury from Forest Park Community College. Cherisma also had six game-winning goals for the Panthers, who finished 13-7-0.

With the NCAA-II Final Four still remaining, Cherisma ranks sixth nationally in goals per game (1.05) and eighth in points per game (2.32).

Cherisma is one of eight players from the Great Lakes Valley Conference named to one fo the four teams named. It includes the following players who are products of the St Louis Metro area:

  • So. Randy Roy, Southern Illinois Edwardsville - HM
  • So. Tom Heinemann, Rockhurst- HM
  • Sr. GK Greg Crook, Southern Illinois Edwardsville - HM
  • Jr Zach Bauer, Southern Illinois Edwardsville - 3rd Team
