Congratulations to the Mizzou Men’s Soccer Club, recent winners of the NIRSA National Men’s Open Division Soccer Championships this past weekend at Pensacola, FL. They won by beating Kansas in a double overtime shoot out Saturday. 4-2. Earlier games included a win over Michigan State in a double overtime 4-1 Shoot out.
The team includes two Springfield area players - Jake Basecke (back row, 1st on right) and Brian Lindsey (back row, first on left). Jake and Brian were Glendale Falcon teammates (class of 2005) and Jake played in the inaugural Southwest All-Star game. Brian was named to the All-Tournament Team along with Mizzou teammates Shane Rasch, Matt Grabner, and Ross Pfeifer.

We defeated Kansas in the final on PKs. Our football team will beat them on Saturday as well.
