Drury Lady Panthers Run Ends In Minnesota

Drury Panthers LogoThe Drury Lady Panthers run to the Final 16 in the Division II NCAA Tournament came to an end today with their 1-4 loss to the #1 ranked Grand Valley State team. Despite scoring first, Mandi Little from Melissa Perry in the 37th minute, the Lakers tied the game 90 seconds later. With three more goals in the second half, the most potent offense in Division II (they outscored their opponents 82-7 this season) reaches the Final 8 where they will face either Nebraska - Omaha or Minnesota State - Mankato.

The Panthers were outshot 27 to 5, with a 16 to 2 difference in shots on goal. Corners were 6 to 0. Jessie Sanderson had 12 saves in the game.

The Panthers finish their outstanding season with a record of 17-5-3, a record for wins, their first ever GLVC Tournament Championship and NCAA bid.
