Heeding CBC Coach Michler’s advice regarding the importance of the first goal, the Billiken’s threw seven into the attack this evening. In the 14th minute SLUH made it count when senior Kevin Steitz headed in a ball that had been sent back in, across the face of the goal, after a corner kick. The Billiken’s did it again in the second half, in the 52nd minute, again from the corner kick.
Mehlville Panthers – 2 (via PK’s)
Vianney Golden Griffins – 1
Mehlville scored first, only to see Vianney tie the game 3 minutes later. From that point forward it went back and forth through regulation and two 15 minute overtime periods. PK’s resolved the issue. Coach Kofron will be glad he wasn’t there to see his alma mater during that period, it wasn’t pretty.
