Drury University keeper Jessie Sanderson has been named to the Daktronics All-Region Second Team for the Great Lakes Region, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The freshman from Jefferson City has posted a Great Lakes Valley Conference-best and DU school-record 10 shutouts this season. She also leads the league in save percentage (.905) and goals against average (0.53).
Sanderson – named the GLVC Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year last week – has helped the Panthers to a 15-4-3 overall record, a GLVC championship and a berth in this weekend’s NCAA-II Great Lakes Regional in Edwardsville, Ill., where third-seeded Drury will take on sixth-seed West Virginia Wesleyan at 6 p.m. Friday.
The photo is from the semi-final win over Quincy last Friday. That’s M Little, Sarah Colvin-Fritz and Sarah Goodman. By the way Jessie, was the GLVC Championship as exciting as winning the Kickapoo Shootout last April?
