Chicago Fire Face New England Tonight (ESPN2)

I never posted my photos from the Chicago Fire game in early October. Coincidentally enough, it was the New England Revolution that the Fire beat that evening, 2-1 with Chris Rolfe getting the game winner.

The two teams go at it again tonight in the first of a pair of home and away games, pursuing the Eastern Conference title and the right to play in the MLS Championship game on Sunday November 18th.

MLS: Chicago Fire vs NE Revolution (Oct 7th) As Mike H at My Soccer Blog notes

Without a doubt Blanco (pictured) will play a major role in Chicago’s night, but which Blanco will it be? Will it be the Blanco from the first leg who gave away the ball over 40 times or the Blanco of the second leg who was placing the balls were needed and catching the United defense cheating? But the center of attention might not be the most important person to watch as the Fire will need Chad Barrett and Chris Rolfe roaming into the final third regularly if they hope to beat Reis.

As a reminder, the Chicago Fire also features Matt Picken’s (MSU 2003) in goal while the Rev have three St Louis players in their starting line up – Steve Ralston, Taylor Twellman and Pat Noonan. Tonight on ESPN2, the broadcast begins at 6:30 pm. Go Fire!

Update – dang nab it!
