In my other role as the President of a local filmmaker organization, I’ve been asked to put out the word on this open casting call for a young boy to play a lead role in a film that will star Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn in “Lord of the Rings”)
The movie is “The Road” and is an adaptation of the Pulitzer prize winning novel by Cormac McCarthy. It is the story of a man and his son as they experience the devastation of a post-apocalyptic world, being sustained by the love that exists between them. It will begin shooting in February, 2008 at a location to be determined.
An open casting call will be held on Saturday, November 3rd from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm at the Landers Theatre downtown. The casting agent is looking for a thin, slightly build boy between 7-10 years old to play the lead role of the son.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!! ALL SLIM BOYS AGED 7-10 ARE WELCOME!
The Landers Theatre is located at 311 E. Walnut Street.
