The playoffs begin Friday evening, with Willard and Marshfield facing off in the play-in game up in Bolivar, as part of the very competitive Class 2 playoffs. Here are the final regular season reports.
Cassville Wildcats - 4
Ozark Tigers - 3
Cassville led 4-1 at half-time. Uziel Franco and Ryan Schlichtman both scored two goals each. Schlichtman’s final tally with 14 minutes left in the half proved to be the game winner. In the second half, Ozark came out strong and was able to put in two goals but no more. Jake Lumby
scored a goal in the first and the second half and Caitlin Hill tallied Ozark’s third goal on an assist by Jeremy Dauer. Cassville’s Anthony Larson had four saves in the contest and Ozark’s Jason Taylor and Matt Lewis combined for 14 saves. With the win, Cassville’s record stands at 18-1. Ozark’s record is 16-7.
Note: With the two goals, Schlichtman ties the school record for career goals at 72, which is held by his older brother, Nick. Ryan Schlichtman now has 24 goals and eight assists on the season. Franco is the team’s leading goal scorer with 30. Franco also has three assists).
Rolla Bulldogs - 4
Columbia Rock Bridge - 0
The Bulldogs shut out the #5 seed in the upcoming District 10 tournament. Rolla finishes the regular season 19-5.
