The Falcon’s opened play at the Kickapoo Shootout Friday evening against the Moberly Spartans, a Class 2 team that is
battling Hannibal for bragging rights in the North Central Missouri Conference. The Falcon’s scored 3 in the first half and a final one late in the second half. Robbie Harbach had a pair, Devon Newport had one and an assist, Shaun Morris and Chris Maddox also scored for the Falcons.

The Tigers drew Class 1 Pembroke Hill, a team from the Kansas City area that finished 3rd in State last year and represents well on their annual excursions to Springfield for the Shootout. The game was scoreless in the first half but the Raiders broke through with a PK early. They added a second when their tricky sophomore forward, Zac Totta, slipped past a pair of defenders and slotted his shot to the far side netting. The Tigers didn’t quit and on the basis of a fine run down the right side by Kyle Varner who was able to turn into the box and slot a ball through the six yard box. #10 slotted the ball home. The Tigers had several more chances but ended up giving up a third goal on the counter attack late.

The Irish fought back from a one goal deficit to defeat their large school neighbor from the South. The Irish face Pembroke Hill at 8:00 am which will be their first opportunity to compete against a quality school from outside the District.
