Represent Springfield Soccer In College

Tyler Kutz, Parkland College Cobras Tyler Kutz (Parkview 2007) is part of the Parkland College Cobras, a junior college team based in Champaign IL (also home of the University of Illinois). The Cobras recently got to 6-6-1 following a three game winning streak, and four of the past five. Nick Schlichtman (Cassville 2006) has played in six of the seven games as the team has gone 5-2, with their two losses coming to GLVC teams Northern Kentucky and Rockhurst. The Bulldogs play at the University of Missouri - Rolla on Sunday September 30th, the closest he’ll come to home this season.

Josh Florez (Parkview 2005) enters his third season with the Bears who are ranked #2 in the Central Region in Division III. He’s played in five games this season, as the team has gone 5-2. The losses have come to D2 Truman State and to #1 ranked Trinity this past weekend.

John Duncan (Joplin 2007) is a freshman on the Washington University Bears squad with Josh and he’s played in all seven games this season, getting a pair of assists in the process.

Bryan King (Kickapoo 2007) is starting for the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions. The team has gone 0-7 in the preseason, all non-conference games. They open conference play against Bacone this weekend.

Joanna O’Conner (Willard 2006) is starting for the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lion’s womens team. It’s their second season and they are 1-6, opening with a win against Dallas Christian. It was the program’s first ever win.

    Always good to see so many of our local boys representing at the college level. I know there are many more that are hard to keep track of (ex: Prater at Mo South., Florez at Harding), but it’s great to see what kind of talent our area is producing, and continues to produce at many different high schools and clubs around the area.
