I’ve already pointed you to Glendale’s games this week. Did I mention one of them is against the Kickapoo Chiefs? That’s right, everyone’s favorite derby is on tap already. Tomorrow night, at Cooper Soccer Complex with the JV kicking off at 5:00 pm, the Varsity to follow at approximately 6:30 pm.
Missouri State plays at home this evening, hosting the University of North Florida Ospreys at Plaster Stadium at 8:00 pm. On Friday night, the University of Central Arkansas will be in town for a 7:00 pm game. The UCA Bearcats feature a pair of starters from Glendale, Chris Murphy in goal and Wade Luethy in the midfield. That game will be preceded by MVC opponent Drake taking on Western Illinois at 5:00 pm. Drake and MSU will swap opponents on Saturday, playing at 5 and 7 pm again.
The Lady Bears head to Little Rock this week for a game against Arkansas-Little Rock. I hope they aren’t looking ahead to a very big game on Friday against Nebraska, in Lincoln. That’s going to be a great measuring stick for the ladies as they take on a Big 12 squad.
Great Lake Valley Conference action opens this weekend, the Panthers hit the road for Rolla on Friday night and UMSL on Sunday. The Miner’s will host Rockhurst on Sunday as well.
MSSU hosts Eastern New Mexico on Friday evening at 7:00 pm as they begin Conference play as well. The Ladies are on the road as is SBU.
Ozark and Nixa host the Christian County Tournament this weekend, I’ll have more on that later this week. Rolla has four teams in town for a smaller version of their annual event. Monett is hosting a group of six and New Covenant Academy is holding their tournament. Lots of details to follow.
