Missouri State Wins Bradley Soccer Tournament
The Bears had a good weekend in Peoria, winning both games and taking the tournament title at Bradley. They beat the University of Illinois – Chicago Flames 2-1 on Friday and IUPUI 1-0 on Saturday to finish at the top of the table. The three goals match their output in the previous six games, going back to the 1-2 loss to UCA at home on September 7th.
Beating the Flames is a good sign, 2006 winners of the Horizon League and NCAA qualifiers who knocked off the Braves in their game on Saturday.
The All-Tournament Team included Lance Parker (MVP), Yanik Joseph, Henry Lawrence III and Brian Collins. Of this group, Brian is not a starter, but obviously impressed the coaching staffs at the tournament. He is pictured celebrating with Mad Dog during the UCA game and it’s the only photo I could find in my files of the freshman from Hinsdale IL (Chicago suburb). Of course that still puts me ahead of the Bears website…
