Drury Panther fans will want to mark their calendars for the first “PantherFest Tailgate Party,” a chance to meet and greet and share a bite to eat with DU’s coaches and selected student-athletes, on Thursday August 30.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the shady area just north of Weiser Gym. Free hot dogs, chips, beverages and ice cream will be served as members of each of Drury’s 15 intercollegiate sports will be in attendance to meet the fans and share information about their teams and programs.

Players and coaches will be handing out fall sports schedules, season ticket brochures for men’s and women’s basketball and information on donating to the annual Drury Athletics Auction to be held Oct. 20 at the Findlay Student Center on the DU campus.

The tailgate party format will allow DU fans a chance to grab a bite to eat before heading up the street to Hammon’s Field for “Drury Night At the Springfield Cardinals.” Members of the DU baseball and softball programs will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch for the 7:10 p.m. minor league baseball game that night.

Tickets for the baseball game will be available at PantherFest as well, including a limited number of free berm seats. For more information, call 873-4097.
