The Joplin Globe breaks the good news out of Logan-Rogersville last night. Central Ozark Conference members voted to add the Neosho Wildcats to the Conference beginning with the 2008-2009 school year.
Neosho will join the conference for the 2008-09 school year. Carthage and Webb City — current members of the Southwest Conference along with Neosho — already have been accepted for COC membership.
By adding Neosho, the Central Ozark Conference will have eight members in the large-school division and seven in the small-school division.

“In the COC, you are going to be a state contender, and that is what we want,” Page said. “I think the community wants that, and I know our school district wants that. The competition level doesn’t hurt us, but it is just something we are going to have to gear up for. We are glad to be a part of that, because that is going to make us better.”
