When the two teams last met, it was one of the more remarkable games ever in MLS, as Eddie Johnson scored his first hat trick to lead the Kansas City Wizards to a 4-3 win against the New England Revolution. Now the teams come together as the top in the Eastern Conference, separated by just one point. For the Wizards, this is the first leg of a home-and-home series with the Revs; New England, however, has three more games in the two-plus weeks between. For New England to maintain its lead in the East entering the weekend, the Revolution will have to do something, though, they haven’t done in some time: they haven’t defeated Kansas City in two-plus years, and their last home win in the series came in 1999, at the old Foxboro Stadium.
