The teams have gathered in Canada and the games open this evening with the US vs South Korea. The group stage games are all being broadcast live on ESPNU (now available on Mediacom) with today’s match at 1:15 pm.
The World Cup will run from June 30-July 22 in Canada. The U.S. was drawn into Group D with Korea Republic, Poland and Brazil. This is the sixth straight appearance for the U.S. in the world championship and their 11th overall. The U.S. opens against Korea Republic on June 30, then faces Poland on July 3 and concludes group play on July 6 against four-time U-20 world champions Brazil.
The team is a mix of college players and MLS players, including Freddy Adu and Michael Bradley from the senior team. The US roster has 14 players who are professionals, the largest number of any of the qualifiers.
