The U-17 boys team completed their Midwest Regional League (MRL) Spring season play this past weekend in Muscatine, IA. The team played, and won, all three games:
5-1 over Dynamo Katner (Indianapolis)
4-1 over FC Pride (Indianapolis)
2-1 over Metro Strikers (St. Louis)
The team finished 5-0-2 in the Midwest Regional League First Division and now qualifies for the MRL Playoffs June 16-17, 2007 in Sylvania, Ohio. If they are successful there they will be promoted to the Premier Division for 2008. This is how the Springfield SC U16 team earned their placement into the Premier Division.
Speaking of the U16 team, the Missouri State Champions have recently been recognized as the #16 ranked team in the nation in their age group by National Soccer Rankings, a site run by an Illinois-based gentleman. The boys are currently second in the Premier Division Red after splitting a pair of games in Lowell, Indiana .
