Joplin 2 Nixa 1. It was overall a pretty tight game, 3 yellows (or was it 4?). Joplin scored first on a missed clear. Adrienne dove and got her finger tips on it but couldn't defect it far enough. Shortly into the second half, Sarah Goble tied it when a shot from Jessie Yach hit the bottom of the crossbar, went straight down and bounced high enough to allow a rushing Sarah to head it in. The winning goal came on a Joplin player's drive through a crowded box to slot the ball home. The past 2 games have been costly for Nixa. We now have 5 varsity players on the D.L., two from the Marshfield match up last Thursday and 3 from last night. Not a good time of year to fight injuries.
