The KC Wizards are in town tonight to face off against the Missouri State Bears. There are a lot of reasons to attend this game – to support Major League Soccer, to support our favorite D1 program and to support the State Champion U16 squad from Springfield SC that will be introduced at halftime. The best reason is its going to be a beautiful evening and this will be the finest soccer to be seen in the region. Come and Represent Springfield Soccer! 7pm tonight at PLASTER!
The Ozark Conference race will be decided by next Wednesday when the Falcon’s face Kickapoo again. The Rolla Bulldogs visit Glendale on Tuesday, perchance to play spoiler. Glendale will take on the Yellowjackets in Lebanon on Thursday so a big week for them.
Other games of interest – Monday Coach Davidson takes his Chief’s squad to Ozark where he’ll get a closer look at what will be his Tiger’s squad in 2008. He did some scouting last week. Catholic goes to Bolivar on Thursday. Bolivar’s win at the Willard Tournament this weekend positions them for the #2 seed in the District playoffs that will begin a week from Saturday, this will be an early look at the #1 seed Irish.
Finally, the Springfield Demize open their season on Saturday in St Louis where they will face off against the Heartland Division rival St Louis Lions, named the #1 Rookie Program last year by the USL. I’ll have a calendar link for you this week so you import the schedule for the season into Outlook or your calendar application of choice. If anyone’s seen a roster, send it my way!
