The Missouri State menâ€™s soccer team will host Major League Soccerâ€™s Kansas City Wizards in an exhibition match at Plaster Sports Complex on Monday, April 30, at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the contest are now available by contacting the Missouri State Menâ€™s Soccer office at 417-836-3743 or Lake Country Soccer at 417-862-3211. Groups of 15 or more will receive a discounted rate of $6 per ticket. A single adult ticket is $10, children 12 and under will cost $6, and Missouri State students, faculty and staff presenting their MSU ID can purchase tickets for $5. Following the game, fans will be able to meet players from both teams during an autograph session.
Curt Onalfo is in his first season as Kansas Cityâ€™s head coach after serving as an assistant coach on the 2006 U.S. World Cup team. The Wizards finished with a 10-14-8 record last season and finished fifth in the Eastern Conference of the MLS.
Missouri State finished the 2006 season with an 8-8-3 record, including a third-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 3-2-1 mark. The Bears went 4-0-2 at Plaster Field in their first season at the on-campus site.
The April 30 exhibition will mark the fifth consecutive spring in which the teams have met, with the Wizards winning last yearâ€™s match in front of over 1,100 fans at Cooper Sports Complex.
