The Missouri State men’s soccer team will host Major League Soccer’s Kansas City Wizards in an exhibition match at Plaster Sports Complex on Monday, April 30, at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the contest are now available by contacting the Missouri State Men’s Soccer office at 417-836-3743 or Lake Country Soccer at 417-862-3211. Groups of 15 or more will receive a discounted rate of $6 per ticket. A single adult ticket is $10, children 12 and under will cost $6, and Missouri State students, faculty and staff presenting their MSU ID can purchase tickets for $5. Following the game, fans will be able to meet players from both teams during an autograph session.
Curt Onalfo is in his first season as Kansas City’s head coach after serving as an assistant coach on the 2006 U.S. World Cup team. The Wizards finished with a 10-14-8 record last season and finished fifth in the Eastern Conference of the MLS.
Missouri State finished the 2006 season with an 8-8-3 record, including a third-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 3-2-1 mark. The Bears went 4-0-2 at Plaster Field in their first season at the on-campus site.
The April 30 exhibition will mark the fifth consecutive spring in which the teams have met, with the Wizards winning last year’s match in front of over 1,100 fans at Cooper Sports Complex.
