Glendale Falcons Win Two at Tournament of Champions
The Glendale Falcons had a good weekend in Burlington, IA. Sophomore Emily Jordan (pictured shooting against Nixa earlier this year) was named to the All Tournament team that includes Alyssa Mautz of Ft Zumwalt West, the Class 2 Offensive Player in Missouri and an All Midwest pick last year. The top 4 Class 2 teams in Missouri last year were part of this tournament along with the girls from Glendale.
Friday featured a 4-0 loss to #1 ranked Incarnate Word
Saturday’s morning feature was a 3-2 OT win over Horlick (WI) that was also Coach Jeff Roger’s career 200th win with the girls team. Saturday’s afternoon feature was a 2-1 win in PK’s over Bettendorf (IA).
I hope to get an update on Lebanon’s results from the Glenwood-Chatham (IL) Tournament as well. And here we go, from the State Journal Register in Springfield, IL:
The host Glenwood Titans defeated Glenbrook North 1-0 on an unassisted goal by freshman Ali Traina just 12 minutes into the game. Junior goalkeeper Caitlyn Moody made that goal stand up by making eight saves for her fifth shutout.
Peoria Notre Dame defeated Lebanon (Mo.) 2-0
Maine South defeated Morton 3-0
Normal West beat Highland 8-0.
Glenbrook North defeated Lebanon 3-0
Lebanon defeated Highland (IL) 9-0 in the fifth place game.
