For those of you who may not have heard, Ozark Head Coach Tod Sundlie (back row left in the picture above, with his varsity squad and Assistant Coach Derek) has tendered his resignation, effective the end of this season. Coach Sundlie, who handles the boys and the girls teams, is completing his fifth season with the Tigers. He and his wife recently had their fourth child. With four kids all under the age of seven, he is ready to spend more time with his family.
The school district is actively recruiting a new coach and I am aware of two candidates who are interviewing this week. I’ve also heard from several sources about other candidates, including a big name in high school soccer in the region. The decision should be complete in late April, with a recommended candidate being presented to the School Board at their next meeting April 17th. Interested candidates should contact the Athletic Director.
I’ll have more information on Coach Sundlie, one of the gentlemen of the sport, later this season. For now, I know he’s enjoying this season as the Tigers get out there and compete every day. Good luck gang!
