In the fall season of 2007, the Northeast Oklahoma A&M’s roster will include new athletic teams. Men’s and women’s soccer teams will be formed in the fall semester of the 2007-08 academic year, said Dr. Glenn Mayle, president.
The next critical step will be to seek two full-time coaches, said Mayle. Both the men’s and women’s soccer coach will ideally be full-time employees. The problem faced by NEO administrators is that it is not yet know what positions will be available next fall for the new coaches to fill.
Because the coaches may not be able to start until August 1, 2007, it is possible that the soccer teams will be run as club sports until the fall of 2008.
NEO is located in Ottowa County, near Miami, OK. It will most likely play against the Community College programs located in Eastern KS as well as Northern Oklahoma College.
