There are over 70 films available for viewing next Thursday, Friday and Saturday at four locations, including The Moxie and Gillioz Theatre downtown. You can find all the details in the current issue of GO Magazine while Community Free Press has several articles and film recommendations as well.
The video above was produced by Professor Mark Biggs from the MSU Media, Journalism & Film department. I got to be the sound man and Jeff Jenkins, Artistic Director of the Skinny Improv was kind enough to lend his talents to the video. Has anyone seen it run on KSFX27 or KOLR10 yet?
I am now accepting block ticket orders for “Once In A Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the NY Cosmos” film on Saturday February 24th at 7:00 pm at The Gillioz. The order must be for ten or more tickets, paid by check by Wednesday February 21st. $7.50 per person, $5.50 for students (ID required at The Gillioz), seniors or U13. I will compile a list and you will be able to pick up the tickets at the Will Call table at the Gillioz anytime Saturday. Make the check out to Missouri Film Alliance of Springfield or MFAS.
The film is rated PG-13 for some language and nudity. All I recall is a glimpse at the backside of one of the players who posed in Playgirl magazine. Leave a comment with more details if you have them.
If you are interested in a great meal while you are downtown, the best value in town in my opinion is Nonna’s Cafe. They are also a sponsor so tell them thank you if visit their restaurant.
PS - the image you see above is from “Binta and the Great Idea”, one of the five Academy Award nominated short films that we will be showing during the Festival. A must see in my opinion!

Heard a great segment on NPR Friday morning about the festival. Best of luck…I hope you have time to sit back and enjoy all the great things you have helped put together here.
