Springfield Demize (PDL) Sign Local Collegiate Players

PRESS RELEASE

The Springfield Demize announces the signing of eight local collegiate players, representing Missouri State University and the Drury Panthers. From the MSU Bears, Brian Pasierb, Yanik Joseph, Kellington Boddie and Andrew Cooper have committed the Springfield Demize for the 2007season. Representing the Drury Panthers are Kian Sterling, Cody Reinberg and Neal Covington.

Brian Pasierb, an MVC All-Conference Honorable mention and former member of the Springfield Storm, is back and will be playing in the midfield for the Demize this season.

Yanik Joseph, a junior at MSU, looks to bring some international experience to the Demize. As a member of the Dominican Republic National team, Yanik received a cap representing his country in a World Cup qualifying match against Mexico. Look for Yanik to thrill fans all summer and to contribute to the Demize attack with his impressive array of foot skills.

Kellington Boddie, a member of the MVC All-Freshman team in 2005 at MSU, will also be looked at to help provide some offensive scoring punch this season for the Demize.

Andrew Cooper, a three year starter of MSU and former member of the KC Brass PDL team, will round out the players representing MSU. Andrew brings a lot of experience to the back line were he will be handling center back duties this season for the Demize.

Cody Reinberg was a Captain last season and has been a mainstay for the Panthers over the past three seasons, with Gateway All-Conference and All-Region honors for his efforts during the Panthers 2006 campaign. His leadership contributed to Drury breaking the DII Top Ten national rankings.

Kian Sterling, a graduate of Drury University and currently a member of the Trinidad and Tobago national team, will also add some international flare to the Demize season.

Neal Covington had a stellar freshman season with the Panthers, receiving Gateway All-Conference honorable mention after producing four goals and six assists. Neal played club soccer with Scott Gallagher, a national powerhouse for boys youth soccer based in St Louis.

The last local player signed is Atila Mota, nicknamed Brazil. Brazil has played with Sporting Crystal and during his only season of high school soccer in the states he scored 23 goals with 27 assists.

“Both Armen and I feel we have a solid core group of local players to build our team around this season. ” stated GM Chris Hanlon. ” After participating in the USL Men’s Player Showcase this past December, it really gave our coaching staff a definite measuring stick to judge the level of players we want involved in our program,” added Head Coach Armen Tonianse.
