Jefferson College’s Stephen Peck Jr Earns Coach of the Year

StephenPeckJr Congratulations to Stephen Peck Jr and his staff at Jefferson College in Hillsboro MO (south of St. Louis via I-55). The NSCAA awarded Coach Peck the Junior College Division I Men’s Coach of the Year Award for 2006. I know of at least one local boy who is looking at the program which has an excellent record.

Peck led his Jefferson team to a record of 21-3-2 and the NJCAA Division I national title in 2006. In the post-season, his squad outscored its opponents 26-6, concluding with a 2-1 overtime victory over Mercer County Community College. This is Peck’s second National Coach of the Year award, having won it in 2003 while at East Central College.

Well done Coach!

I played for Coach peck for two years at East Central College in 02′ and 03′. The amazing thing about Steve is that he is twice the mentor than he is a coach. He is well deserving of the accolades he has received.

Aaron didn’t mention that Coach Peck also earned a Coach of the Year award while he was at East Central College, also the former home pitch of MSU’s Omar Shoucair.
