Big news from the Kansas City-area, more specifically William Jewell:
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has named William Jewell men’s soccer coach Chris Cissell the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year. The award was presented at the association’s annual conference in Indianapolis, Ind., on Friday, January 12.
Jewell is regularly on my radar screen as Chris (in the jacket in the photo, behind Jefferson Roblee) also coaches the Women’s squad which includes Parkview’s Katie Brooks. Chris’ award is for the men’s team but his results with the women are even better if you can imagine. His record stands at 112-25-6 and he has already led the women’s program to three NAIA National Tournament appearances (2003, 2004 and 2005).
