Post Storm

Downtown Springfield MO post-storm There are not too many of us who have ventured out downtown today following the storm but the Mudhouse is open as is Gailey’s if you are looking for a nice start to your day. As to the Lake Country Soccer, I haven’t heard yet. Send in a photo of your favorite snowy soccer field, let’s remind ourselves of what it can be like the next time we complain about the weather in August.

Update – From my NCAA press contact, the College Cup Games are postponed until tomorrow. Release will be going out shortly.

For NCAA College Cup attendees, here’s the latest from the Post-Dispatch

An NCAA spokeswoman said the only conditions that would keep the games from being played are lightning or if the officials could no longer see the lines on the field.

My NCAA Press contact tells me nothing has changed, the games are on until further notice. If I hear of a change, I’ll post it if I’m still in town. Today’s games in the Final Four Showcase have been canceled because of the weather although plans are to play Saturday and Sunday’s scheduled games. At this point. I say that because the front page of the Post-Dispatch points to 482,000 without power, Metro trains shut down and highways iffy at best.
