MLS Playoffs

Man, I’m looking forward to getting caught up again so this stuff doesn’t keep sneaking up on me. Anyway, the MLS playoffs have begun, with eight teams facing off in a home-away series. My favorites, the Chicago Fire, face off against their Eastern Conference nemesis the New England Revolution (think Taylor Twellman and Steve Ralston, STL boys) who eliminated them last year in the Conference Final. This year it’s the Conference Semifinal and two games and the boys are ready to go.

Matt Pickens, MSU graduate, may get the start in goal since he’s been a part of the Fire’s excellent second half. 12:00 pm Sunday on ABC as they chase the Double (Open Cup Champions and MLS Champions!)

WESTERN CONFERENCE
No. 4 Colorado vs. No. 1 Dallas - Dallas wins the first match 2-1
No. 2 Houston vs. No. 3 Chivas USA (Sunday, 3 pm CT, ESPN2)

EASTERN CONFERENCE
No. 1 D.C. United vs. No. 4 New York Red Bulls - DC United shuts out NY 1-0
No. 2 New England vs. No. 3 Chicago (Sunday, 12 pm CT ABC)
