This weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, MYSA will be holding ODP tryouts at Lake Country Soccer. Here are details from the MYSA site:
MYSA will hold a district “District Level Tryout” in each district : Western, Eastern, Central and Southern. These tryouts would take place over the course of one weekend. Each player allowed three sessions that weekend. The sessions would take place Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon as well as Sunday morning. From these sessions the best players would be invited to attend the State Level Tryouts. The State teams would be chosen from this, and a coach and assistant coach assigned to each team.
If you are interested in trying out, you must register at this site. There is a Registration fee of $115 which can be brought to the tryout.
I talked to the Southern District commissioner, Jim McCarthy, who represents us at MYSA. He was unaware of the upcoming event since it appears no one at MYSA or the ODP organization contacted him to discuss these dates. I know that at least one club will be out-of-town participating in a major tournament this weekend which negates the benefit of bringing this event to town.
