Represent Springfield Soccer

Folks, it’s time to get caught up on some of the players from the Springfield Soccer region who are Representing in college.

Let’s start with a former Kickapoo Chief who is one of the earliest players I remember from the girls program’s in the area - Erin Hainey. Erin is part of the University of Central Missouri Jennie’s (notice the new school name?) who compete in the MIAA. The Jennie’s lost 0-2 to Southwest Baptist on Wednesday in their first game under the UCM banner. There’s a nice action photo of Erin and details on the game by following the link.

Former Camdenton Laker, and Southwest Soccer All-Star, Haylie Christiansen got her college career for the William Woods University Owls off to a fine start

Freshman forward Hayley Christiansen scored on a penalty kick as time expired in the second overtime in Wednesday night’s season opener for the Lady Owls at Firley Field.

She’s one of seven women who have started all seven games so far, with a record of 3-4. She has two goals and an assist, putting her third on the points list for the squad.

That’s a new girl and an experienced college player. I’m looking for more details so we can all get up-to-date on what’s been happening. Send me pointers on your favorite players!
