On the heels of last weeks milestone in Bolivar comes news from Cassville:
Cassville Wildcats – 3
Webb City Cardinals – 1
Webb City struck first on a goal by Manny Alfaro, and the Wildcats could not find an answer in the first half. Cassville came out in the second half looking like a different team. Ryan Schlichtman scored the equalizer on a header from an Aaron Jamieson corner kick. Nate Evans scored what proved to be the game winner. His goal was unassisted. Hector Valenzuala scored the final insurance goal on a Ryan Schlichtman cross. The Wildcats now stand at 9-4 for the season. The Cassville JV squad also defeated Webb City 2-1.
The entire Cassville varsity football team and coaches came to watch the second half of the game. Their support seemed to revive the Wildcat game. It was a great show of school support to see all 80-plus varsity football players sitting in the stands, wearing their black and gold jerseys, cheering on the soccer team. Tonight’s win over Webb City also marked Terry Jamieson’s 100th win at the helm of Cassville soccer program. (Report courtesy of Cassville Democrat)
