The KC Wizards odyssey ends where it began with the purchase of the team yesterday by local ownership. The ownership group is called OnGoal LLC and is led by Cerner Corporation executives Neal Patterson and Cliff Illig. The purchasing group also includes Pat Curran, David French, Greg Maday and Robb Heineman.
The KC Star fills in some of the blanks, in particular the on-going soccer specific stadium details necessary to keep the team in KC. Kudos to the MLS for allowing a local group to purchase the team while continuing to work towards a stadium deal.
