Camdenton Lakers Soccer

Camdenton Lakers Soccer The big news in Camdenton this year for the Lakers is the new coach, Justin Yates. He joins the school from Richland, where he established the Bears soccer program. He is pictured on the far left in the photo The Lake Sun Leader profiled Justin recently

Justin Yates, a 1997 graduate of Skyline High School and a 2001 graduate of Central Methodist University, takes over the program, which has compiled a 100-87-11 record in its first seven seasons under coach Scott Blake.

Scott has moved to Jefferson City where he will be an assistant for the Jay’s boys team.

The Lakers had a nice turnout this summer for camp and the start of the season and see five seniors return for their final year. The list includes Tyler Schuster, Hugo Morales and Logan Howe in the midfield as well as Seth Brayfield and Cory Howard on defense. With freshman midfielder Connor Agniel and sophomore defenders Ethan Castle and Jake Schuster the only representatives of the lower grades, it will be a seasoned team prepared for the rigors of the Ozark Conference.

The Lakers open their season next Tuesday when the West Plains Zizzers visit. You can follow the action here as well as on the new website the team has established.
