What! Could it be that time already?!! For those of you I have talked to or traded email with this preseason, I share your excitement that a new season has once again rolled around. If for no other reason then it means that it’s got to start getting cooler around here. Sometime. Soon.
High school games are still two weeks away, with the first day games can be played being Monday August 28th. So that means the Chiefs have time for building teamwork on a Ropes course today following Saturday’s scrimmage between the Varsity and the JV (brown vs gold?) The Falcon’s continue two-a-days I’m guessing and the majority of the teams have settled into their regular season routine now. Schedules to be highlighted soon.
For the college squads, a much shorter window of time to prepare. The first two exhibition games of the season kick off this weekend.

Friday 6:00 pm - MSU vs UMSL (Women) at Plaster Stadium
Saturday 7:00 pm - MSU vs Tulsa at Plaster Stadium
For the Lady Bears, it’s the Division II Riverwomen coming to town. A good chance to get a glimpse of what’s to come as well as seeing a Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) opponent of Drury’s. Think we’ll see Coach Bilbao or Swan on hand to scout? For the men, a traditional foe from just down the road. All at Plaster Stadium which will hopefully allow a larger college crowd to attend the games . Maybe even a few of us from the Springfield Soccer community. How about you?
