The season has started folks, time once again for the High School boys to begin practice in preparation for the 2006 Fall Season. My first stop this year was on the North side, where first year Coach Andrew Clifton began two-a-days with some early morning running and light drills. Andrew, who will be teaching World History and US History (social studies for the old schooler’s out there), joined the Hillcrest program this year from Drury University where he was a captain for Alf Bilbao’s squad last year. He is assisted again this year by Brennan Wells.
The team has had fifteen players participating in summer scrimmages and will rely on the two players who participate in Club soccer in town, sophomore Bryce Collier and freshman Michael Freeman. With Coach Clifton already leading the way in running with the squad, they’ll have the advantage of a pair of coaches practicing with the team. Go Hornets!
