University of Missouri - Rolla Miners get new Pitch

University of Missouri - Rolla's new pitch
University of Missouri - Rolla women’s soccer Coach Jon Kiester is pictured above checking out the new field that is being developed for the men’s and women’s program in Rolla. The current field has a couple of problems that made it stand out for visiting Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) opponents (not in a positive sense) so it’s nice to see the school stepping up.

I stopped off in Rolla on my way home from St. Louis last weekend to take a peek at the new pitch I usually just stop to get gas and gaze at the parking lot that used to be the dump house that I lived in with a couple of buddies when I attended this quality institution but this time I wandered down to 10th Street as well. New Bermuda grass sod was laid just over a week ago. Now the primary question will be when it might be ready as the surrounding infrastructure is missing and the sod looks like it could use more then a month to get rooted. Despite my urban roots, I’ve got a green thumb and I’ve put in more then a few new yards in my time. That’s an easy problem to resolve with a bit of patience. Congrats to the Miners, I’m looking forward to catching a few matches in the future.
