I made my usual trek over to the Missouri State University campus Thursday evening to take in a few games at the annual high school boys team camp. This four day session is an excellent opportunity for high school squads to build some team spirit and get a jump on the preseason practices that will begin in seventeen (17) days here in Missouri. The camp continues to grow with 14 schools, broken into 16 teams, coming from Oklahoma, Nebraska, Arkansas and Missouri. It’s well staffed, with fifteen (15) college coaches from around the region providing training, supported by a large number of the MSU and other local college players. The highlight of the week is the All-Star game that is held on the final evening of camp with a select group of players playing a short game and earning some recognition from their peers. That includes being featured on this fine soccer blog!
