I have spent a couple of evenings taking in the Drury Panthers High School Soccer Camp this week, getting a few photos and soaking in some of Coach Alf Bilbao and his staff’s training techniques. Running Tuesday through Friday evening this week, there’s a nice group of players receiving instruction from Coach Bilbao and a few of his boys. Recent graduates Andrew Clifton, recently named Boys high school coach for the Hillcrest Hornets, and Dusty Baker are providing field training for the boys and girls. Michael Lassen, Kickapoo 2004, is back on the pitch for the Panthers and providing goalkeeper instruction for Catholic’s Christina Ogden and Hillcrest’s Jillian Gerkey (pictured above). There are players from Kansas City, Jefferson City and good local representation from Kickapoo, Glendale, Ozark, Waynesville, Parkview, Hillcrest, Marshfield as well as freshman-to-be from Hickory Hills, Pershing & Cherokee Middle School. Good stuff!
