Tlaquepaque Boys Scrimmage Total Soccer

Tlaquepaque U14 Scrimmage Total Soccer
The final preparations for the Springfield Sister Cities visit to Tlaquepaque are underway. The boys select squad that has been chosen to represent Springfield in a series of games against Club Atlas got in a couple of scrimmages against a local boys club as part of those efforts on Sunday and Monday. Total Soccer Club, who’s U14 Scorpion squad was the lone Springfield representative in that age group to reach the quarterfinals of the recent Missouri State Cup, put together a squad that included Club coaches Chris Hanlon and Armen Tonianse along with several of the U17 boys preparing for a trip to the KC Legends tourney this weekend, to give the U14s a challenging match.

It was an enjoyable match, as the both squads showed the results of their Spring training. For the Tlaquepaque boys in particular, it was good to see them move the ball as well as they did and to not back down against the larger opponents they some times came up against, including a goal by Patrick Baltz that he slipped by the onrushing GK. The team departs Wednesday for four games and some cultural activities. I think that means watching World Cup games in Mexico. Good luck boys!
