Danny Collins World Cup Report - Day 2

Waking up this morning all I could think of was that I get to see Brazil play today (Sunday). After a full nights rest and a huge breakfast we hoped on a train to Munich for our second game, Brazil vs. Australia. The train was so crowded that we had to resort to sitting on the floor until all the Japanese fans got off in Nuermburg to watch their game. After checking into our hotel we boarded a subway to take us to the stadium. The subway was so unbelievably crowded with screaming fans that we were literally chest to chest with hundreds, seriously hundreds per cab, of sweaty futebol fanatics.

Walking into the stadium all you could see were either Ronaldo or Ronaldhino jerseys, with a few blown up kangaroos here and there.

The first half was suprisingly uneventful, having such an offensive powerhouse as Brazil playing. However, Brazils possession of the ball was inspiring. The only real chance of the half was when Ronaldo played a great ball to the 18 but it was shot wide left. The second half had a lot more action. Adriano came out and scored early gaining the first point of the game. The Brazilian fans behind us went crazy which created an even better atmosphere than the night before. Walking out of the stadium, we were stopped by many crowds of people in a group surrounding Brazilians dancing to drums. It probably took us a hour to make it out of the stadium and I don’t think one Brazilian had left yet. This was definitely a game I will remember for the rest of my life.
