I probably don’t need to tell you, since the title says it all, but Buddy Coulter has checked in from Germany!
+++++++++++++
Germany has been quite an experience. Everyone has been very nice. We are in Frankfurt now and we watched the Brazil vs. Australia game with 30,000 other people. The screens are about 3 stories tall and they are in the middle of a river. In Berlin, they reported 200,000 at their “Fan Fest.”
The US are in good spirits here, every fan was upset with the way Donavon played against the Czechs. It was hard to cheer in that game after the second goal. However, the fans here have so much heart. We all believe that we can win still. The stadiums are unbelievable. Hopefully ABC is getting good coverage of the fans because in the stadium it sounds like the US are the loudest.
K-Town was a huge street party. There were well over 100,000 people before and after the game partying. We did not get back to our town until 6 a.m. We had to take a train and the first train was at 4 a.m. the next morning. The entire station was full of people doing the same thing and also sleeping.
During the game we were singing as loud as we could. The national anthem was amazing. So LOUD! Landon played the best that I have seen from him in years. The choice of Dempsey over Beasely was a good one. The awards for the game were as follows:
Man of the match: Kasey Keller
Best acting: All the Italian players
Most improved: Landon Donovan
Worst performance: The ref
Greg Louganis Award: Del Piero
Anyway, we are having trouble finding time to write the reports, but we will send more to you later. The Brazil fans have been the worst. Most of them are not even from Brazil. They are just Europeans and Mexicans that are wannabees. The German fans are nice. The English have been so funny. They fight and bicker with each other more than anybody I have ever seen.
USA is going to win on Thursday. The latest reports in Germany is that Ghana has gotten cocky after their win and they don’t know if they will settle down. The Czechs have no available forwards for the game against Italy. The Italians will have something to prove now since they barely got away with a tie against the USA. We should have won that game and we will win against Ghana.
Later and Go USA, Buddy!

Thanks Buddy, send in at least one more before you return
And in the spirit of Buddy’s report, who has heard about the Dutch fans who were reduced to watching their team play live, while clad only in their underwear? Think it was a security issue?
