There is still a need for volunteers for the Missouri State Cup soccer tournament that begins on Friday. In particular, Karla Conner is looking for people to work this weekend, especially Sunday when there is a full slate of games.
Please consider helping out on this, the largest single sporting event Springfield hosts. A two hour commitment on your part will go a long way towards making this a safe and fun example of what Springfield has to offer the rest of the state.
There are a range of opportunities, from field marshalling, t-shirt sales, concessions, and check-in, you name it. Young children, with their parents are welcome to make it a family affair and take in the excitement of the event. Young men to staff the barricades on Saturday, Sunday and Monday when Pythian will be closed to handle the foot traffic, are especially needed.
