Some soccer on TV this weekend to get us ready for the games. ABC is showing American Soccer’s 10 Greatest Moments on Saturday at 2pm and then on Sunday at 1:30 pm check out The Drive to Germany.
How many of you have a Yahoo address? Have you added my site to your Yahoo front page? How do you do that? Click on the Yahoo button on the top right and you’ll be taken through the steps of adding Springfield Soccer to your personal page right alongside the BBC, Washington Post and New York Times. Or how about this nice little tool – Yahoo Mobile will be providing regular World Cup updates directly to your mobile phone! Sign up for alerts or depending on your phone, full MatchCast Tracking! be certain and upgrade your data plan for that one.
There’s lots more at the Yahoo FIFA site, including videos of classic games, best young players and once the games begins, all of the goals and 2 minute game highlight clips (reminds me of the Springfield Soccer site)
Sports Illustrated goes with soccer as their cover story!
Finally, Paul Gardner at Soccer America says if you lose your first game, you’re not likely to advance in the World Cup. Hat tip to DuNord.
And did I mention Clint Dempsey, aka Deuce, now has a blog? Welcome to the club Deuce. Now, I wonder if his stories will be as interesting as the ones that Buddy Coulter will be sending back from Germany?
