This Week in Soccer

Two weeks and counting folks. That’s how much time remains before the High School Girls soccer season moves to District playoffs. It’s hard to believe we’ve come so far so fast. In terms of big games, there are a couple to keep our eyes on. Kickapoo travels to Waynesville on Thursday giving the Tigers one more opportunity to test themselves against the traditional powers in the Ozark Conference. Next week brings the Kickapoo - Glendale rematch in a game to be played at Cooper Soccer Complex on Monday. Otherwise it’s the final push for District seedings and the elusive momentum you hope to have going into the playoffs.

My primary goal will be to supplement my coverage of some teams that may have been neglected as I am still learning how to manage my ‘media calendar’. I expect one more Regional and State Poll to allow us to see where the coaches votes for District seeding will probably be directed. I also want to try and write an article on some players that deserve coverage in advance of end of the year polls. There are also some final College Recruiting reports to write on some local players who have made their decisions.

On a related note, I have figured out the new web design and returned the links. You need to scroll to the bottom of the page where you’ll find them in the Footer. There are now three categories - your favorite Club & School Teams, Recommended and Regional Organizations. I’ve got them sorted alphabetically (in progress) so it should make it a bit easier to find although I can’t handle all of the other divisions I had such as Youth Soccer, Adult Soccer, etc in this theme. How important is that to you? Leave a comment.

PS - since I use Firefox more then I use Internet Explorer, my testing is sometimes incomplete. I see that IE is not working with this site theme as well as it should. I only keep IE in order to log onto my Microsoft Partner account and some financial services organizations that haven’t discovered the value of Firefox. Consider a switch, I think you might enjoy it!
