We left Rolla High School at 7:00 a.m. this morning heading for Charleston, West Virginia (Approximately a 10 hour bus ride). We did a lot of sleeping early on, as we were tired from our weekend tournament. Unfortunately for us, when we awoke from our naps, we found that a fuse for the T.V. had blown, so we could not watch any of our many DVDs (the planned activity for the trip). To pass the time, we played hangman, did handstands in the aisle, played various group games, and used up a lot of film. We arrived at our destination at about 8:30 p.m., ate dinner, and turned lights out at 11:00 p.m.

Once again it was a bright and early wake up as we loaded the bus at 9:00 a.m. and headed for our final destination: Henderson, North Carolina (50 miles North of Raleigh/Durham area). Again, we had no T.V., so there was a lot of sleeping and odd activities, including locking teammates in the bathroom and putting smaller children in the overhead storage area. We arrived in Henderson at approximately 4:00 p.m., moved into our rooms, and walked across the street to some local stores to pass time before our game.
At 6:00 p.m. we headed to Northern Vance High School, about 3 miles from our hotel in Henderson. The game started at 7:00 p.m. Although the game itself was not as interesting as we had hoped, a few aspects of it surprised me. There were three referees on the field, all equipped with a whistle and yellow and red cards, unlike in Missouri where there is one main ref and two sideline refs for assistance. Also, the clock counted up to 80 minutes (like professional clocks), while we are used to it counting down from 40 each half. The score of the game ended up 7-0 and everyone got plenty of playing time.
