Nedoma Joining the Drury Panthers

Karissa Nedoma

Those who have been paying attention to Springfield Soccer for awhile now know that a talented senior-to-be (with her twin U12 brothers) moved here from Columbia last summer. The player I’m talking about is Karissa Nedoma who joins the District 12 Champion Kickapoo Chiefs for the Spring season this year.

Here’s what Chris Miller, Head Coach of the Jefferson City HS Jays had to say about Karissa’s departure:

Karissa is an excellent high school player who always puts a lot of pressure on your defense because of her speed, athletic ability and technical skills. She is always a concern because she can score goals in bunches and is equally adept at distributing. I know Kickapoo got a great player and that our district teams certainly won’t miss having to deal with her at playoff time.

I met with Karissa Continue reading “Nedoma Joining the Drury Panthers”

Paulsell Benefit

Many of you know Lindsay Paulsell, coach of the Marshfield HS teams and the JB Marine SC high school squad here in town. You might even remember her from her playing days at Drury University where she had the good fortune to meet, and fall in love, with a fellow who played basketball at Drury, Chris Paulsell.

Chris is the boys basketball coach at Conway but due to an unfortunate accident in early December, he has been in the hospital and now rehabilitation for the forseeable future. The Paulsell’s are school teachers and you can probably imagine the financial impact this has had on top of the phsyical and emotional impact.

From Saturday’s News-Leader comes news of a benefit basketball game on behalf of Chris & Lindsay:

Set for Drury University homecoming weekend, friends and former teammates are organizing a charity basketball game to raise money for former Drury player and Conway basketball coach Chris Paulsell.

The game will be on Friday, Feb. 17, to raise money for Paulsell, who was seriously injured in a car accident in December.

The list is not complete, but former Drury player Brad Teague said Friday he is hoping between 30 to 40 former players will be involved.

There will be no admission charge, but donations will be accepted. Teague mentioned that when Paulsell was rushed to the hospital, he was delivered to health care outside of his insurance network, causing the bills to rise.

Teague said Paulsell is still in hospital care, but is slightly improving.

The Conway High School faculty has set up an account for donations for Chris and Lindsay to offset some of their medical expenses. That account is at Central Bank in Conway, PO Box 129, Conway, MO 65632. Send your donation to the attention of Glenna Vestal. Thank you, and keep praying for Chris and our family!

This information above is from the Lady Lightning website, a competive girls middle school basketball club with several teams coached by Chris’ father Mike. Basketball runs deep in the bones of this family 🙂

There is also a website you can visit and leave a note for the family if you would like. The site is Caringbridge.com, click on Visit a CaringBridge site, then put in site name which is christopherpaulsell.

Chris – I’m looking forward to the day when you and Lindsay are back out on your respective fields of play, developing the kids I know mean so much to both of you. Get well soon!

NSCAA National Convention

NSCAA Convention

Ah, finally tracked down the rumoured photo of these Ozark Conference Coaches hanging out and smiling. Setting a fine example of sportsmanship they are although I wonder if I had saved this until April 1st if anyone would have believed it. Click on the photo for another shot of two of these coaches, and gentlemen, also hanging out with a Brazilian World Cup goalkeeper. Does this mean conventions are all about having a good time? It’s not work?top dubai escort
