Soccer Specific Training
Stepped out this afternoon to take in the Jewsbury – Bounds training sessions that are going on at Lake Country Soccer. Jack Jewsbury, KC Wizards player and Kickapoo graduate along with Brian Bounds, Athletic Trainer who provides speed, agility & strength training that is soccer specific, have partnered up to offer a six week series of sessions at the Dome that began last week.

Lavoy Chooses Purdue
Rachel Lavoy, Kickapoo 2006 & Springfield SC, has verbally committed to attending Purdue University in the fall. Rachel plans on pursuing a career as a Pharmacist and finding a school that met her educational goals as well as soccer goals was an important part of the recruiting process. As a recent recipient of the NSCAA/adidas Scholar All America team (1 of 35 nationally!), Purdue sounds like an excellent fit. As Rachel noted in my conversation with her Monday, Coach Klatte’s personal philosphy played a role in her choice.

St. Louis Lions
Well, I’ve identified a web site. And here finally is the formal press release from the USL offices. I’ve added a link to the site on the page and I’ll keep an eye out for any additional information. From the press release –
Within the next 2 years CSM plans to field a women’s team to compete in USL’s W-League which has the same format and business model as the PDL. Also, CSM’s five-year business plan calls for the addition of a professional team in USL’s First or Second Division.
